The Monument of Frederic the 3rd

Description and background
The Memorial is a bronze bust of the founder of Fredericia  king Frederic the 3rd. He wears a harness and a coat and on the head a wreath of laurels. On the chest he wears The Elephant Order (the finest order of Denmark) and other decorations. The vault bears the monogram of the king.

Frederic the 3rd gave the order to establish Fredericia (first named Bersodde and later Frederiksodde) and on the 15th of December 1650 he issued privileges for the town. The bust is a gift from the citizens of the town to commemorate the 300 years anniversary of these privileges.
